'Tis the season for buying. My soon to be ex-roommate (sounds so sad) bought a house! And he bought it with this (pictured below), putting it in a drop box.

Things I Love #13 - Coffee
I LOVE coffee. It is so good. And it makes me feel good. I love it. I am kind of annoyed that I missed my usual Wednesday free coffee from Starbucks today. The card expires May 28, so I only have 2 more days left! I usually go to Creese Cafe on Drexel's campus. Aside from the one rude pimply college kid there, I enjoy the employees. The one manager is always bright and happy in the morning and really cheers me up. Additionally, they have cards where you can get a stamp for every coffee you buy. I love getting stamps. And on Tuesdays you can get two stamps for one coffee! Eventually you get a free coffee and those days are the best.

Exciting!
I bought a new bike! I decided that a new bike would be my end of school/birthday gift. Not that my scraper bike isn't the best - it is, it just doesn't like to take long trips, and the ghetto crate on the back isn't exactly aerodynamic. So I needed (wanted) a decent road bike to take longer rides for fitness and fun. I'm excited!!
In other exciting news, my friend IR has once again been selected to represent the US with the US women's 7s team, this time in the Amsterdam 7s tournament. She left last weekend for a week filled with diligent training, hard work, and intense rugby (and a trip to Anne Frank's house). Stay away from the pot and red lit windows!!
I've never really understood the lure of Amsterdam. I've been there, and it's quite a cool city. But I guess what Amsterdam is known for isn't really my bag...except maybe the fact that there are lots of bikes everywhere!!! It's the bike capital of Europe! I wonder what the bike capital of the other continents are? If you have any educated guesses let me know.
Anyway, good luck IR! I'm off for a bike ride.
PS. If you check out the hyperlink on "bikes" - I want to still be riding a bike like that old lady when I grow up!

Finished!
After my 8 hour take home exam I'm now finished with my first year of law school! It feels the same. Haha.
On to summer!

Ridiculousness
Does anybody else hate PECO, PGW, and Comcast? I sure do. Nothing dealing with these utility companies is easy. All I want to do is be a good person and sign up for these services in my new apartment. I don't think that's unreasonable. Yet when you call one of them (PGW), their customer service menu sends you through hoops just to run you in loops. Finally I got so annoyed I just pressed "0" repeatedly until after about the 10th time a real voice popped up. Once that happened I just got even more confused. I'll spare you the details for that one but the outcome is still up in the air.
PECO was actually the easiest signing up online. But only after they put you through a series of weird and unconnected questions. And I still have to trust that somebody will come out during the time I specified that I was available for a service check. I'm not holding my breath.
Comcast is the worst. I tried to sign up online, but they couldn't find my address. So I figured I'd try talking to a real person. But he couldn't find my address, then somehow figured it out. Then he said the option I wanted was only available online. So I said, yes, I tried online and the computer couldn't find my address...what happens if that happens again? He replied that there is an instant chat with a customer service person to help you. Cool. I'll try again. So I add the service I want to the cart, proceed to check out, only to find that there is a $99 one time installation fee. $99!!! RIDICULOUS. But I need to lease a modem so it isn't like I can do it myself.
ANYWAY, I go through the whole process and check out and then sign up for an installation time and await my chat with the customer service person. But "Sarah" (who I think didn't speak/type English as her first language), couldn't find my address either! So now apparently I have to wait for her to send something to the local office and then they'll call me. Like that's going to happen. Again, not holding my breath.
To make matters worse, my dispute with this seller on Ebay turned sour when they tried to extort me into leaving positive feedback so I could get my refund processed. Um, NO. I see a conflict on the horizon, but this one I'm excited about...

Study seclusion
So, I have one final left and then I'm finished with my first year of law school. No matter that even after our finals, we have moot court competition May 19 and 20 and law review write on between May 19 and June 2. Never mind that instead of being able to thoroughly enjoy my break between end of school and start of my summer internship I'm going to have to move and live without a couch for a while.
Moving on to the point, this weekend I am taking a study seclusion trip so I headed out to PS and IR's house to get away from distractions (thanks PS and IR!). Alas, I can find distractions anywhere, but so far I've been super productive. The country is quite nice and very relaxing.
And I managed to take some time out to buy an amazing penguin shirt at EMS and take some artistic photographs. I think that I probably won't quit my day job to be a filmmaker, but someday I might quit my day job to take up photography. Pictures are cool.

Walk like an Egyptian...
So my friend SP has this garden plot in a community garden near Drexel along with GSB, JS, and a few other Drexel people. He asked me the other day if I wanted to stop by and help them move some stones. I agreed, thinking it was just a few larger rocks. Fastforward to today and I hadn't heard from SP so I just assumed it wasn't happening, with the potential for rain and whatnot.
I was headed out to REI when I got the call. Funny enough, SP was also interested in going to REI so I decided to turn around and help move some rocks and then we would go to REI. Little did we know just what this rock moving would entail. Below I've posted some pictures that illustrate the process and a couple videos to further help my readership understand just what an endeavor this was. Let's just say I got a taste of how the ancient Egyptians felt when they were building the pyramids.
Stage 4: One down, 10 to go.

Stage 5: Finished project, 1 hour later. Yeah, we're good.
